This cake is one of my favorites. ANYONE can make it. Its not meant to be perfect, in fact that is what I love about it. Go here for STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS. You can free hand the roses or after you crumb coat the cake, use a circle cutter and gently mark the cake to help space your roses. For a fun Holiday cake I added red ribbon around the bottom of each tier. Ty
Thats the pic we sent to family- Surprise! Baby #5. It was a better surprise for some than for others ;). I have been wanting to write about Ty's first months for awhile, I have started to work on it several times but for some reason I am really struggling! It's been making me really emotional to go back to the pictures of his birth and the following weeks. Maybe its because he is my last baby and I am still sad about the things we missed, while at the same time being extremely grateful that he ... VIEW POST
My best motivation.

More Eagle Scouts
Another Eagle Scout Cake! My hubby is the short one in the photo and has been scout master for all these cute boys! As I added each color I gently pressed it to the strip next to it with a thing film of water. I loved putting the Scout motto on it- but the Scout belt is always my favorite part. Here is the link to my other Eagle Cakes along ... VIEW POST
Rainbow Cake
Colorful cakes just make me happy. I got the request for a rainbow cake and I just thought of polka dots! I used homemade fondant for everything except the red. To get the perfect rainbow for the top I used a smaller cake pan to form it in, cutting the stripes with 2 circle cutters that were within 3 sizes of each other. I let it dry and then cut the ends straight. Bright and Fun! ... VIEW POST
P.O.O.
(This is from a Women's Conference that I was asked to speak at. We were focused on this talk about The Joys Of Motherhood. There were 3 moms, one with young children, one with children who had grown and me- in between and also a mom with "special" kids. I realize the P.O.O. acronym is super mature but my kids got a kick out of it ;).) I come from a family of 14, I am the 5th of 12 kids. I graduated from college but really I just always wanted to be a mom. When I had my 3rd child Jack I ... VIEW POST
