Hello Kitty

March 4, 2014

To make these I used a tulip flower cookie cutter, and then rolled the piece wider width-wise. The center "petal" becomes the top of the head and the two side petals the ears. To make sure I had enough fondant for the head I rolled it thicker than usual before cutting them out. The nose and eyes are mini m&ms cut in half and for the whiskers I cut up black red vines! I let them dry on saran wrap over night and then "built" the flower using gumpaste glue (gumpaste powder mixed with just enough water to make a thick paste) and fake ... VIEW POST

Hot Chocolate Whipped Cream

February 10, 2014

This is not a frost the cake frosting, but it is definately a GIVE ME MORE and EAT IT WITH A SPOON frosting! Make sure your mixing bowl is nice and cold, add 2 cups heavy whipping cream, start whipping and gradually add in 2/3 cup hot chocolate mix. You can use whichever brand you prefer, I used Nestle Rich Milk Chocolate first but then branched out. For a really rich chocolate flavor use just 1/3 cup Dutch Cocoa powder and 1 Tablespoon Cold Stone brand "Sweet Cream" coffee creamer. (!!!!!) So ... VIEW POST

Easter Rose Cake

February 2, 2014

To do this cute little multi colored rose cake I used the Rose Technique, starting with the accent colors, and then filling in with the white. I think it is also really pretty to use just two colors, with one draping down the side like this one. ... VIEW POST
