Attaching Ribbon to a Frosted Cake

I love cakes with smooth frosting instead of fondant, and it is possible to attach ribbon or fabric by following simple steps. Make sure your cake is cold so you don't dent the frosting, measure with a measuring tape and add 1/2" for overlap. If you have chosen a ribbon that is not double-sided, first attach wax paper to the back of the ribbon by adhering double-sided tape to the ribbon. Valentines Cookies

These were fun- I love the way Royal Icing looks but I love the way butter cream tastes so I colored my sugar cookie dough as red as I could (adding a bit of extra flour to balance all the food coloring!) and then after my hearts were baked I doubled them up with butter cream in the center and royal icing on the top for decorating. Mini Cakes

This were a huge hit with the ladies, perfect for two to share and so pretty for any party. To make these I lined a jelly roll pan with wax paper and then spread my cake batter filling the pan a little over half-way, (I didn't want it too thick since I wanted 3 layers in some of the cakes.) Once it had baked and cooled I used a 4" circle cookie cutter to cut out the rounds, it was nice using a JR pan because I could get so many rounds with hardly any wasted cake. Best Peanut Butter Cookies

These are chewy melt in your mouth favorites! 1 Cup butter 2 Cups Peanut butter (creamy) 1 1/2 cups brown sugar 1/2 c sugar 2 eggs 2 TBL milk 1 Tbl vanilla 1/2 banana mashed well (about 3 TBL) 2 1/2 cups flour 1 1/2 tsp baking soda 1 tsp baking powder 1/2 tsp salt Beat butter and PB until combined, then add sugar beating until smooth. Add the rest of the wet ingredients and then the dry (combined together). Roll balls of dough in sugar before baking at 350 for 10+ minutes, take them out just ... VIEW POST
