Lego Guy

I couldn't resist- we just saw the "Lego Movie" and my kids and I downloaded that song on the way home :). I had to find this Lego cake and re-post it. I think Rice Crispy Toppers are the best- they really make your party theme perfect, or you use them as a center piece! I had one family order Rex from Toy Story and he sat in the middle of the table the whole party. The cars below were for a Pinewood Derby and the Scouts wanted them more than the real trophys! Dog & Cat Cupcakes

To make these I used Marshmallow Fondant (for my favorite recipe go HERE) for everything except the black. It is impossible to color fondant black with gel paste (it becomes a gooey mess!) so I use Duff Goldman by Gartner Studios Fondant, Black, 2-Pounds because it has a nice flavor. These look so cute and while they were a little time consuming, so easy to make. I think coloring the fondant took the most time! Plants Vs. Zombies

To make these figures I used three different kinds of Fondant. For the all the different heads I used Wiltons White Fondant tinted the appropriate color (because it dries really stiffly.) I always buy my black(for little accents here) because dying fondant that color makes it a gloopy mess and Duffs is the best black I have found. It doesn't dry stiffly but has a nice flavor.
