Motorcycle Cake

January 1, 2013

>A great tipis to use Duff Decorating Cake Graffiti, Silver, 1.5-Ounce. I gave it a nice coat of the silver spray and it looked fabulous. The spray works really well for small pieces that you can color before putting the design together. (for the deep metal color your fondant grey before spraying. To make Pokemon I used a rice crispy base (go HERE for more details on RC figures) and Homemade Marshmallow Fondant (go HERE for my favorite recipe.) ... VIEW POST

Tinkerbell

One of my favorites! In this photo she is still lodged in the stick of butter I had her drying in. I made a Rice Crispy head and torso on a popsicle stick which I let dry over night before covering with fondant. The wings are two separate parts that I made with Wiltons Melts and attached with a bit of royal icing. Recipes and Instructions for Fondant, Rice Crispy Base are under "Tricks of the Trade." ... Coconut Pecan Frosting (!)

November 12, 2012

This is so good- its not overly sweet and has such a great texture. Not sticky but has just that hint of caramel. Seriously can eat this with a spoon! 1 (12 ounce) can evaporated milk 1 1/2 cups sugar 3/4 c butter 4-5 egg yolks slightly beaten 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract 1 (7 ounce) package shredded coconut 1 1/2 cups chopped pecans Place everything except coconut and pecans in a sauce pan and cook over medium heat (stirring constantly) until golden brown and thickened. At the coconut ... VIEW POST
