I loved the unique colors of this wedding cake! One of my favorites to date. I used the Ruffle Technique for covering the sides of the two tiers and then for the flower on TOP of the cake I 5 leaf flower cutter but only left the top intact, I cut the petals apart and rolled them out flat, using a little fork tool to crimp the edges. I let them dry on saran wrap over night and then “built” the flower using gumpaste glue (gumpaste powder mixed with just enough water to make a thick paste) and fake stamens for the center.
For the roses on the side of the cake I made a tear shaped ball of fondant as the base, then used the same 5 petal cutter (just a smaller size) and instead of crimping the edges of the petals I gently ruffled them, adding them to the base at first tightly then loosely. I made another rose like this for the cupcakes and used the fold over rose technique for the little roses. To attach the little pearls I used gumpaste glue.
