There is no one that knows better than mom (or dad!) what a child would go nuts for. Personalizing your own cake makes it really memorable. My son Ty still loves looking at pictures of birthday cakes past and telling me “You made that for me.” He does not see any of the imperfections and neither will your child. Making your own cake toppers is so much easier than it looks, once you have a basic form built with Rice Crispy the rest is just adding and taking away bits of fondant.
