This cake looks so sophisticated (if I say so myself ;)) but all you need are some basic techniques (which are listed under “Tricks of the Trade”) attaching ribbon to a frosted cake and how to make a swirl cake. To attach the fondant number I cut a circular hole in the ribbon before placing it on the cake so that the fondant would stick to the frosting.
