Jonathans co-worker mentioned that sometimes my blog makes it sound like I feel like life is really hard. Hmmmm. Could it be because some of my posts are titled "Boo Hoo", "Had a bad day", "Jealous" or "Honey I crashed the car" ? Maybe! :) If I really wanted to sound sad I should add a few more like "Christmas in the ICU" or from the following year "How to give CPR to your 2 month old." But even as I write the titles to seemingly not so nice days, I know that now they just bring ... VIEW POST
I can be Batman
But its not easy. I would rather let Jonathan be Batman. You know, the one from the best Batman movie ever? The one with the really awesomely creepy and scary Joker? At the end of the movie (if you need a recap) we find out that the town hero has turned bad and done bad things- so all hope in Gotham will be lost when everyone finds out. But Batman (read this in a low raspy voice) says "Blame it on me, I can be whatever the city needs" and so he lets everyone think he is the bad guy by doing ... VIEW POST
Honey I crashed the car.
This pic says it all, and the roof even popped back up a little when they turned the car over! So we were going to a wedding reception. I had made the wedding cake but since I don't deliver, it was already there in one piece. Jonathan was at a camp out with Jack, and Scott was just home from a swim meet and too tired to leave so Natalie, Ben, Ty and I loaded up in the car. We sat in the driveway for a few minutes debating if we really should go because Ben was SO tired and I had a lot of cake ... VIEW POST
To touch His robe.
Dear Elder Bednar, When I found out you were coming to the Sacramento area and our Stake would get to hear from you I was really looking forward to it. (I think it's been 35 years since we had an apostle speak here!) I know we have been hearing you and all the other wonderful leaders speak every 6 months in General Conference but for some reason I just felt like this was a really special occasion. My husband Jonathan and I are the lucky parents of 5 beautiful children, two of which have ... VIEW POST
What I would have said…..
In our church they do this strange thing that strikes fear, or at least greatly increases the heart rates of its members. In front of a couple thousand people at Stake Conference our leaders, when inspired to do so, will call up individuals to speak in front of the whole congregation. No warning- no preparation- they are just asked to speak from the heart for a couple minutes about what they believe. I LOVE IT (well, I love it from the moment the names are said and mine is not one of them) it's ... VIEW POST
Kid Talk
I'll just keep adding as they come (or as I remember!)...... 7/15 Ben and Ty On the way home from a playdate with Camille who Ty had been giving hugs and kisses (on the arm) to before we left. Her mom texted me that Camille wanted to send Ty a note because she liked his kisses. I read the text to the boys and Bens face was like this: and Ty said "maybe she wants to MARRY me!!!" (I love young love!) Later after getting the "love note" in the mail Ty told Ben "Well Camille is my girlfriend ... VIEW POST
