My best motivation. (Hey Scotty!)

October 19, 2014

(Written September 20th) I've been noticing I need to do a better job of seeing the good things in my life rather than focus on the not so good things- not the real struggles -I am talking about silly things, material things. Our house is slowly falling apart, our yard resembles the desert (just blame the California drought) my kitchen is too small, and how can I bear to walk in the living room if I don't get the banister repainted!?! The things that don't really matter one bit but can start a ... VIEW POST

Empathy

October 14, 2014

A few months ago Ty had a g-tube infection and had to have his blood drawn (the picture above.) I had to go get my blood drawn for insurance a couple weeks ago and he was with me. He keep telling my nurse "This is not about me, its about my Mom" over and over so she wouldn't accidentally draw HIS blood ;). I gave the nurse my birthday in numbers and Ty asked what I was doing and I explained telling him what his numbers were and he quickly said "Yah ok but this is NOT about me so don't talk about ... P.O.O.

August 11, 2014

(This is from a Women's Conference that I was asked to speak at. We were focused on this talk about The Joys Of Motherhood. There were 3 moms, one with young children, one with children who had grown and me- in between and also a mom with "special" kids. I realize the P.O.O. acronym is super mature but my kids got a kick out of it ;).) I come from a family of 14, I am the 5th of 12 kids. I graduated from college but really I just always wanted to be a mom. When I had my 3rd child Jack I ... VIEW POST

Super Hero Party

June 10, 2014

I used to go all out on birthday parties but it has been a few years since I have had the time or inclination. But Ben was turning 7 and really wanted a super hero party so I put together these games with a trip to the dollar store and an old tarp. I am not sure it is really "Pin Worthy but it was a huge hit! The kids had so much fun and wanted to do each game over and over. The tarp toss was just cutting some squares and circles out, lining them with duck tape, then writing a point score under ... Ben

March 27, 2014

Since I keep mentioning Ben in my blog posts I thought I better give a little background. At the end of my pregnancy with Ben my Dr noticed I had excess amniotic fluid. We did ultra sounds and couldn't find anything wrong but when Ben was born it was quickly obvious that something was seriously wrong. He sounded like he was trying to cry through water. I held him for just a moment before he was taken from me because he couldn't get a good breath. Jonathan remembers hearing the R.T. counting the ... VIEW POST
