Silver Themed Cake Pops

November 24, 2014

These were for a Frozen themed party- I used Duff Edible spray for the silver- love the tone of it. Before I start dipping I get my whole set up ready. It makes a difference to have what you need right there when you are dealing with melted chocolate! A. I line a cookie sheet with wax paper- perfect to catch all the drips, easy to change out as needed, and easy clean up. When I am done with dipping I just pour the left over onto the paper to let harden and save for later. And my melting ... VIEW POST

November 24, 2014

I am sitting here tonight enjoying this combo and as you can see the marshmallows were the first thing to go- I look forward to making this Hot Chocolate Mix every year and now these Homemade Marshmallows are going to be part of the tradition. The nice thing is the marshmallows melt so DELICIOUSLY that you can just keep adding more. Happy Baking and Happy Holidays!! ... VIEW POST

Chocolate Cream Cheese Frosting

November 24, 2014

This is a yummy alternative to plain chocolate buttercream- not too heavy and not too sweet. 1 pound (4 sticks) unsalted butter at room temp (can use salted too- I just love the creaminess of the unsalted.) 1 8 oz cube of cream cheese at room temp (you can up it to a 12 oz if you want it a little heavier, great for a filling but it wont pipe as lightly if you want swirls.) 3/4 cups dutch baking cocoa (or any unsweetened baking cocoa) 1 TBL real vanilla Blend the first three ingredients ... Cream Cheese Frosting

Just Olaf

This is a repeat of a FROZEN cake I made but I didnt have time to make the princesses so we went with "wanna build a snowman?" I just love Olaf- his unique shape actually makes him easier to make since its so obvious. To see how to make your own Snowman go to the Frozen link above. Of course comment or email any specific questions. Happy Baking! ... VIEW POST

Marshmallow Gift

November 4, 2014

This is what I gave out last year to friends as my Christmas treat. I used a THIS homemade marshmallow recipe (because its just so perfectly delicious!) but instead of the almond extract I used peppermint. While the mallows were setting up in their trays I used this mold- (I found it at World Market but its also on-line.) It calls for a mix of semi sweet and white chocolate chips with a little butter. (complete directions come with the tray or email me for more details!) When it was set I ... VIEW POST
