This cake was done with two different frosting tips. For the Blue Monster I used the small Wilton #7 and just did a gentle squeeze and lift. For the Green Monster I used a large leaf tip #125 and starting at the bottom, squeezing the frosting bag gently, I went down just a quarter inch and then up folding the frosting over itself and up about 1/2 an inch. (Its easier than is sounds just try a couple swoops on a piece of wax paper :) ) Before adding the frosting hair I put a strip of fondant for ... VIEW POST
Rustic Wedding
To make this cake I used the Rose technique found HERE but before applying the frosting I wrapped the middle tier with burlap ribbon. Because it was a high quality ribbon that wouldn't shed I placed it directly on the cake and then tied a little piece of paper ribbon around it. When I applied the roses I made sure they were all different sizes to get a more relaxed look and feel. Easy and beautiful! ... VIEW POST

Nutter Butter Cake Balls
These are just so good- easy and fast too. One 16 oz package of Nutter Butter cookies (this works with oreos or any cream filled cookie too) and one 8oz package cream cheese at room temp. Use your food processor to grind the cookies to crumbs. I don't have a processer so I did it in my blender making sure it was very dry first. Mix the two ingredients in a bowl with a fork until blended. Whatever shape you make (balls are easy to make with a cookie scoop) refridgerate them until cold, then use ... VIEW POST
Pluto
My favorite things about this cake you cant really see in the picture, I love the little black fondant mickey mouse heads around the bottom with the other fondant balls. To make this cake I traced the shape I wanted onto wax paper and then used it as a guide to cut my fondant. The most time consuming part was going over the outline with black fondant that I rolled into a tiny strand. See "Tricks of the Trade" or go HERE for my favorite fondant recipe. ... VIEW POST
Avengers!
This only problem with this cake was figuring out how to represent Tommys favorite Avengers. He gave me his top 3 and I thought he said Hulk instead of Iron Man (!!!) so I added a last minute fondant covered plastic lid with a Popsicle stick holding it on top of the cake. It worked great and he didnt mind have 4 Avengers on there! I used green icing with the smooth icing technique found HERE for Hulk, and for my fondant I used this RECIPE for all the colors except the red and black. Before I put ... VIEW POST
