Alicia’s Rise Once Bread
My friend Alicia is the person that should write a cook book. I want the recipe of everything she makes. She brought this bread to lunch one day and I fell in love with how moist and delicious it was, like fresh from a bakery, then when I found out how easy it was I loved it even more. Combine: 1 cup warm milk 1/4 cup butter 1/4 cup sugar In a mixing bowl combine: 3/4 cup warm water 1 Tbl sugar 1 Tbl yeast Let sit until foamy then add the butter mixture. Mix in 1 tsp salt and ... Cake Diary #1
Cake making isn't little just sprinkles and frosting. It's hard work! I LOVE the feeling of accomplishment though as each little (or big!) creation goes out the door. Amelia told me exactly what she wanted for her 18th birthday and I loved her cute ideas! For the Rose Technique you can go HERE. For the gold look on the tip tier I used Duff edible gold spray. Marshmallow Cream Cheese Frosting

I experimented a little and came up with this recipe. (It could be used as a filling as well because its not overly sweet.) It pipes soft- and sets up really nicely in the fridge. Look at the way it whips up- so shiny and smooth and delicious! 1 stick unsalted butter (room temp) 8 oz cream cheese (room temp) 1 container marshmallow fluff (7oz) 2 ... VIEW POST
Farm Cake
Sometimes cake making feels like work. And sometimes it feels like play- making this cake just made me happy. I loved the little pigs, the little ducks.... the little apples! Maybe it's the colors or maybe it just reminded me of playing with play dough as a kid. To keep this from being a completely self indulgent post here is the link to the Homemade Fondant I used for the decorating and my technique for Frosting a Smooth Cake. Happy Baking!! ... VIEW POST
