Another ruffle cake- this one was based on the pink and orange decorations used in the party and I love its uniqueness! Anyone can ruffle, just pull up a chair and turn on a good show because its time consuming! 1- use a circle cutter to get your start 2- cut the half circle down to more of a rectangle 3- ruffle the edge then 4- press the straight edge onto the cake letting the ruffle hang over I love the little banner they put on it at the party- and the cute family that picked ... Some bunnies like cake….
I thought this was such a cute idea when I found out Emily wanted to give this cupcake as an answer to a boy who asked her to the dance "I would be hoppy to go with you!" :) To make this bunny I used homemade MM fondant (so easy and good!) using a circle cutter for the eyes and cheeks. To get the ears to stand up you should make them 2-3 days in advance to give them plenty of time to dry. Or you can do what I did here and use plastic spoons underneath them for support. :) ... Beach Ball Cake
This cake just made me happy. For the Beach ball I rolled a big wad of Rice Crispy Treat into a ball, pressing gently until it was nice and smooth. I added a layer of Homemade Fondant and smoothed it until it was just right. I measured a piece of wax paper on the ball and then used it to trace each stripe of colored fondant. For the sand I threw some Shortbread cookies in the food processor. I think my favorite part is the sun, simple and bright. Happy to answer any questions- Happy ... VIEW POST
I love Pizza. (Favorite Pizza Dough)
It's fast- it's easy- it's (relatively) healthy and best of all it's not expensive to make and I almost ALWAYS have some toppings on hand. I have tried over the years to find a good homemade dough that my family would like, and when my husband came home one night, took a bite and said "you made this??" I knew I had found the one! It's from a cookbook my mother-in-law gave me that I love called "Favorites" and it's even good with whole wheat pastry flour. 1 pkg dry yeast 1/4 c warm ... VIEW POST
Movie Night Cake
This is a really easy and fun way to make a party or family movie night more special. I just did a crumb coat- chilled the cake and then placed strips of red and white fondant around the cake. The finishing touch was white chocolate popcorn! The instructions for making it are HERE. I placed the popcorn pieces on the cake with little bits of frosting to hold the pieces right where I wanted them. ... VIEW POST
Italian Cream Frosting
